Driven by a belief that entrepreneurship is a powerful catalyst for change and framed by our values – Excellence, Equity, Innovation, Diversity, and Collaboration – Strategy 2023-2026 is focused on improving outcomes for more Australians.
Our Story
In 2016, the NSW Government catalysed °ÄÃÅÈýФÈýÂ뾫׼100% School of Entrepreneurship with cornerstone investment to build an unprecedented collaboration between all 11 NSW universities and TAFE NSW.
The impetus came from a 2015 Commonwealth Chief Economist research paper that showed startups created 1.44 million jobs across Australia between 2006 and 2011.
SSE was a key plank of the networked innovation ecosystem the NSW Government built under its strategy to embrace innovation and drive jobs growth - supporting a culture of startups and entrepreneurship in Australia.
The SSE building, started its life as °ÄÃÅÈýФÈýÂ뾫׼100%’s Technical Bootmaking School in 1940. In 2017, life returned to Building J when SSE took over the lease of the building, continuing the legacy of teaching innovation, business growth, creativity, and craft.
